Angie Gyurina
Instructor, RYT-200
Angie first discovered yoga while swimming in college. Her body was constantly achy and tight from hours and hours of repetitive training in the water and lifting in the weight room. During an off-season, she signed up for a student special at CorePower Yoga in Boston—planning on going a few times a week—and soon after found herself booking a class every day. The daily pain and strain she felt in her body slowly melted away as she discovered her newfound love for yoga. After college, she moved back to her hometown of Pittsburgh, moved to the Strip District, saw a sign for The Om Lounge from the window of her apartment, and the rest is history. She signed up for her first class and knew this studio was where she belonged. While on The Om Lounge retreat in Italy, Angie knew she wanted to take her yoga practice to the next level. After a wine-fueled day of touring, she signed up for teacher training and never looked back. Angie’s approach to yoga focuses on creative and athletic flows meant to challenge your mind and body. Her classes will encourage you to take your practice into your own hands on the mat. Whether you want to “get off the train” at an earlier stop for a gentler practice or ride it all the way to the most challenging variations, you are in charge of your practice. Outside of yoga, Angie loves to take walks along the river trail, laze around her apartment (questioning if she should get a cat that she’ll be allergic to), and get lunch with her Dad every Saturday at their favorite spot.
